The Plot
A Cossack, with the help of Pushkin’s poetry, seduces every woman he wants till his predatory ways lead him to a potentially deadly posting in the service of Empire. He sees his salvation in the daughter of the Tsar’s Engraver, the prettiest and most sophisticated “little bird” in the Shtetl. To have her he must save the Shtetl first, though to do so he must violate his principles and deal with his own prejudices against Jews, to find his fate.

Director/writer of the cult classic Mondo New York, as well as Jezebel’s Kiss and Stand-Ins, and the writer of Perilous, Harvey Nikolai Keith here presents his family’s story, recreated from extensive research and his grandfather’s memories, in epic novel form.
